Based on his new piece "My Only Memory" this workshop will work the idea of transformation. The idea of document, the idea of language as action, the idea of choreographing language, the idea of the voice as a body.

The perception of transformation becomes fragmented due to the impossibility of having a permanent awareness of it in the present. Transformations that can only be perceived as part of the past. We realise we have arrived here, but we don’t know how. Past versus present. As if there were transitions that culminate in a change. Ungraspable transitions, impossible to be thought or felt in the present. These are ephemeral moments of different duration that become relevant when you look back.

What will happen when we look back knowing that nothing will be the same?

Participants don't need a particular background, they can have different profiles. No dance background needed. Would be nice if you'd have some earlier experience in trying different modes of attention, being open for different kind of situations.

JUAN DOMÍNGUEZ is a conceptual clown, magical cowboy, model-poet and curator of pleasure.

Precursor together with Lila Guerrero and Rubén Ortiz of the Critic Pleasure Movement.

As a maker and organiser within the fields of choreography and performing arts his work explores the relationship between different codes and advocates the complete dissolution between fiction and reality, using the former to produce the latter and vice versa.

In the last 14 years he has curated different festivals and programs. He was artistic director of the Festival In-Presentable/La Casa Encendida (2003-12), co-designer of Living Room Festival(2010-13), co-curator of Picnic Sessions at C.


With his new piece he will also have a premiere at the festival!
